Here's the thing about waves: we can't stop them. But we can learn to surf them. And that applies to so much more than just the ocean.
Yoga teaches you to be still. To breathe through discomfort, find calm in your body, anchor yourself in the present. Surfing asks the opposite: go with the flow, read the moment, stay balanced when everything's shifting. Put them together and something clicks. You'll feel it the second you paddle out fresh from breathwork, that odd calm, that presence of mind. Suddenly you're not fighting the ocean. You're dancing with her.
This retreat brings both together. You'll start in stillness, grounding into body and breath as the sun comes up, then jump straight into the ocean for one of the best wake-up calls you'll ever get. You'll leave alive, relaxed, and a little proud of yourself for trying something new. There's something good about showing up as a beginner and letting yourself be bad at it for a while.
It's spring time in eThekwini and the water is warming up, the sun is out early, and the beach mornings are glorious! We're making the most of it.
This isn't about becoming an expert in one morning. It's about doing something that scares you a little and feels good in your body anyway. Something that reminds you what you're actually capable of. You'll leave feeling like something shifted: proof you can do the uncomfortable thing and still have fun doing it.
Let's go.
